60-min Bikram Hot Yoga
75-min Bikram Hot Yoga
90-min Bikram Hot Yoga
60-min Hot Vinyasa
60-min Hot HIIT

Please check our upcoming week’s schedule here.

How hot are the classes?

Our hot classes are heated to 105 degrees Fahrenheit and 40% humidity.

Are there showers and locker rooms?

Yes, clean showers are available for use before and after class. Your possessions can be stored safely in our locker rooms.

How do I sign up for class?

You can sign up for any class via Mindbody. You can also arrive to the studio to register in person however please be aware some classes may be filled to capacity from the online bookings. We recommend arriving 15-20mins before class start time to ensure enough time to register and get a good spot in the studio.

How do I pay for class and what forms of payment are accepted?

Drop-in class and packages can be purchased via MindBody and we accept all major credit cards. You can also purchase and pay in the studio, where we accept major credit cards and cash.

How much is a class?

The drop-in price for a class is $35. But we offer a variety of monthly packages & class packages at a discount. We also offer limited-time promotions throughout the year.

Do I need to bring a mat and towel?

Mat and towel are required for class, but we do provide rentals for a small fee. We also sell water and coconut water.

How can I prepare for class?

It is best to prepare by drinking a lot of water during the day before your class and the night before. We recommend about 32oz of water long before class. Hydration should happen well before you arrive to the mat. Drinking too much water right before the class or during will only fill your belly and slow you down. That’s why it is also best not to eat 2-3 hours before your class time. We also recommend taking electrolytes. Please visit our New to Yoga page to learn more about what to expect.

Do I have to be flexible and strong?

Absolutely not! This is a common misconception. Everyone starts somewhere and flexibility is no different. You should seek to build flexibility and strength over the course of a lifelong practice, but it all starts with the first class. Over time you will get stronger and more flexible even if you find your first few classes to be very difficult to follow. It’s all about showing up.

What are some common benefits of a Hot Yoga practice?

Hot Yoga has been proven to lower your blood pressure, improve posture, reduce and eliminate stress, anxiety, back & neck pain, nourish the skin, improve blood circulation, muscle strength and flexibility. It can also reduce symptoms of joint pain, arthritis and insomnia. Not to mention the numerous documented benefits for your mind!

Where is the studio located?

The studio is centrally located in New York City in the neighborhood of Chelsea.
Our address is:
Hot Yoga Chelsea NYC
115 West 27th Street, 3rd Floor
New York, NY 10001

We are a short distance from neighboring areas like Greenwich Village, Flatiron District, Midtown Manhattan, Hudson Yards, Times Square and Murray Hills.

Are there other studio locations?

No, this is the only location. Hot Yoga Chelsea is independently owned and operated.

What should I wear?

The yoga room is heated to about 105 Degrees Fahrenheit so we recommend wearing light, loose-fitting, sweat-wicking clothing. No matter the time of year the studio will always feel like summer so be prepared to sweat in what you wear.

Can I join a class a few minutes late?

No, the studio doors are locked right at class start time, so we do not allow students to join a class late. We highly recommend arriving 10-15mins before class to allow yourself time to check-in, store your possessions in the locker room and find a good spot for your mat in the yoga room.

How often should I take a yoga class?

This is completely up to you and depends on how much your body and mind can handle. We recommend starting with a hot yoga class 3 times a week. But for optimal results many students take class daily. Some even take multiple hot yoga classes in one day.

Are your yoga teachers certified?

Yes, all our instructors are certified Yoga Teachers. They are professionals in the industry and experts in their craft so feel free to ask them any questions you may have before or after class.

How can I contact the business?

If you have any questions or comments, you can call us at (206) 898-8029.

I spoke directly with Neil (studio owner) about how problematic having a workshop with Bikram’s daughter and wife was, on two separate occasions. Each time was atrociously disappointing. The first time I spoke with him, he told me he “didn’t know anything about it.” As a studio owner, there is a responsibility to stay informed about serious misconduct within the yoga community, especially when choosing who to bring into the studio or associate with. Claiming ignorance about abuse that has been public for 12 years is unbelievable and unacceptable. Especially given the seriousness of the offenses. When I specifically asked Neil, if Bikram’s wife and daughter had denounced all association with him and weren’t condoning his behavior, he replied “What is she supposed to do? That’s her father.” The next week I spoke with Neil to reiterate the gravity of this, I asked whether any of the proceeds from the workshop were going to support the women abused by Bikram. I still believed that the workshop should be canceled, but I asked this out of curiosity. Neil responded, “No, but that’s a good idea. We should talk about it later I’m in a meeting now.” To my knowledge, none of the victims received any support or acknowledgment connected to this workshop. I believe it is deeply hurtful, harmful and inappropriate to host a workshop with Laju & Rajashree Choudhury. It appears that they condone the behavior of Bikram by not denouncing him. Inaction and silence can be a harmful parallel of the initial abuse. A true wellness community prioritizes emotional and physical safety for everyone. Accountability, being proactive and making amends is essential for all students and especially for survivors. What I found most disgusting and repulsive was the overall complicity on Neil’s behalf. The alleged ignorance, lack of urgency, empathy, and accountability in both responses I received shows this. Neil is spending time and money to make the studio bigger, but not safer or a more trustworthy place. It became clear to me that the priority here was profit rather than the wellbeing and safety of the community. This is a clear case of institutional betrayal and what makes it worse this neglect lies directly on Neil as the owner of a Private Yoga studio. Until there is true accountability and a genuine commitment to overall wellbeing of the students who trust this studio, I won’t be a part of the studio. I refuse to feed into the cognitive dissonance and to enable potential for abuse.
Response from the owner:Dear Cat, Thank you for taking the time to leave us a 5-star review on Google. We are glad to hear that you chose to move closer to our studio and that you appreciate our variety of class times and adjustable shower heads. We are also happy to hear that you are a frequent visitor, coming to class 4-6 times a week. We apologize for any issues you may have had with some of our instructors. We strive to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for all of our students, and we understand that each person's needs and boundaries may differ. We encourage you to communicate with our instructors about your preferences and we will do our best to accommodate your needs. We also appreciate your feedback about our amenities and will take it into consideration for future improvements. We are thrilled to hear that you enjoy Andy's HIIT class and the energy of Myrna and James. We are grateful to have such dedicated and passionate instructors on our team. Thank you again for your support and we look forward to seeing you in class soon!

My favorite hot studio in the city, hands down. It doesn’t have the feeling of one of those new, designer studios - it’s old school, real yoga. 3 showers, 2 bathrooms, and they just built their second studio in the space! Neil always goes out of his way to make me feel welcome, which is why I HAVE to come back at least once a year, even though it’s incredibly out of the way for me since moving to BK! Also, shout out to Jermaine, an iconic NYC instructor ☮️

Great teachers! Great location (with showers!)! Accessibility to subway! If you’re watching shows (matinee and evening performances), you can take a class in between! 9 minutes door to door between the theater and the yoga studio!!!! Trust me. I did it! I’ll be back 🙂

My new favorite studio! I ve suffered from back pain for as long as I can remember, with each class my pain is slowly releasing as my spine gets decompressed. The guidance and detail to attention from all the teachers is on point. I love the community feel and how much heart every instructor. Today I took Jessie’s class she was amazing!

One of the only places in NYC that you can get a proper traditional Bikram style flow. The owners and teachers are all amazing, supportive and lovely. Highly recommend!
